Trends For Your Home Emerging in 2017

If you are thinking of, or have already decided to take the plunge to build a new home or renovate your current home this year –then we’ve got your design needs sorted!

At LEAP we have done some research to bring you the top designs trending in 2017 to ensure your home will feel modern and luxurious.

Brass

In recent years Brass finishes have begun trending again, due to their ability to add a golden look to a home without costing an arm and a leg. More recently, polished and reflective brass has been a second choice to brushed or satin brass, which creates a more muted and warm look, and looks fantastic against almost any colour scheme.

Greenery

For both the interior and exterior, greenery adds a revitalising feel which helps your home maintain a natural vibe. Greenery works well with a range of modern design features, including warm wood tones, tan leather, natural linen and brass appearances.

Adding greenery to the exterior of your home will keep it looking fresh, and doesn’t have to be a difficult task. For the lazy gardener, succulents are a brilliant option to make your home beautiful without great maintenance – succulents come in a range of colours and sizes to match almost every design.

Greenery as an interior design is a win-win - whether you have greenery outside, a more natural design inside, or a combination of both, greenery inside will always make your home feel fresh. Plants and natural greenery have been really popular over the last few years, and in 2017 it’s only growing. Many people are now taking the next step to adding greenery to their interior designs, such as having a green feature wall, splashback tiles, or decorative features such as throw rugs, pillows, etc. Just a splash of greenery will add a zesty look to your home that make your guests green with envy.

Outdoor Art

When we think of an artsy feature for our home, most people think of the interior. We use these art features inside to emphasis the front entry, the master bedroom, or any room which needs a kick of creativity. So why only inside and not outside? What better way to change the entire look of the outside of your home by adding a decorative art piece. The best part? These features can come in any size and can be made of almost anything – wood, metal, PVC or plants. If you’re the creative type, why not DIY the feature to create the exact look you like. It may be to dress up your front doorway, or add an additional feature to the garden – the possibilities are endless.

Rustic

Having a rustic look in and outside homes has been a growing trend recently. It is a timeless design which combines simplicity and elegance to make your home feel more natural. Adding a rustic look to your home can entail anything - from having wooden tones throughout your home, antique decorative features, terracotta tiles to line your outdoor walkway, or terracotta pots for plants.
Rusticity is perfect as a design throughout your home, or as a feature to make a part of your home pop with style.
